DSI faculty member Jane Englebardt is just about the best person in the world to know when you have an idea and need a champion and doula for getting it birthed and thriving. She has an uncanny ability to recognize the big ideas, help define and refine them so that others can support them as well, then light a path to implementation and success. The fact that she is equally comfortable mentoring a room full of CEOs and steering an open wheel race car says something about her unique combination of wisdom, leadership, empathy and courage.
Jane is principal and founder of Upshot Advisors, LLC, and has over 25 years’ experience in nonprofits and philanthropy, with expertise in leadership development, executive coaching and accelerating organizational success. She is a committed fan of design.
Jane’s other remarkable accomplishments are diverse: CEO at a nationally prominent non-profit, as well as a leading corporate foundation – awarding grants to ideas she believed in in the fields of arts, education and health, and winning grants for her own ideas. She also founded and served on the board of the September 11th Children’s Fund, was Deputy Director of the Big Apple Circus, and a Manager at KPMG Peat Marwick. She began her career as an NEA grant recipient at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then worked in the curatorial department at the Museum of Modern Art. (more…)
